The Campell Town Show will celebrate its 180th birthday in May.

Regarded as the southern hemisphere’s longest continuously running show, according to the Midland Agricultural Association, the show will take place over Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26.

Among the attractions and events will be the book launch of author Jane Milburn's book Slow Clothing, which is dedicated to wearing sustainable and ethical clothing.

Milburn will also judge the annual Man Cake Competition.

Other attractions will include yard dog championships, smithfields shows, an Australian Wool Innovation fashion parade, equestrian events and a ute competition.

The usual litany of showbags and sideshow alley activities are also expected at the showground.

Gates at the Campbell Town Showground will open at 7.30am and close at 5pm for both days.
