Bannister has departed the Western Bulldogs, while Clarence’s Maddison Smith has also been recruited by the Kangaroos.
Bannister, a TSLW premiership player with Launceston, was drafted to the Bulldogs in the 2017 National Draft, but suffered an ACL injury in the opening round last season.
“Daria is originally from Tasmania, which has an alignment with North Melbourne through the AFL talent development program, and in making this decision it will allow her to spend more time with her family in her home state,” Bulldogs’ women’s football general manager Debbie Lee said.
Meanwhile, Smith was identified at North’s AFLW talent search earlier this year, where she impressed with her ball use, strength and power.
Smith booted nine goals in Clarence's win over the Tigers earlier this season.
