After winning the Tasmanian Formula 500 title at his first attempt, the 17-year-old also closed his debut 410 sprintcar season by scoring his maiden feature-race win at Hobart Speedway.
Goodyer qualified in pole position and recorded a new lap record of 11.534 seconds before leading the 20-lap feature race from start to finish and was joined on the podium by fellow youngsters Nick Penno and Tate Frost.
“We’d been up the front for the past few races and it felt like a feature-race win wasn’t too far away, so to finally get it done was a great feeling,” Goodyer said.
“I’ve absolutely loved my first season in sprintcars and I think my experience on the mainland earlier in the season has really helped me to develop my race craft, so that’s something we’ll definitely look at doing more of next season.”
Goodyer plans to contest the full 2018-19 410 sprintcars schedule as well as defending his Tasmanian Formula 500 title.
