That, he said, was why Scottsdale’s path to the cenotaph was built. Each brick lists a fallen soldier from World War I. However, the path is still incomplete.
“The path goes for a long way, and it’s hoped that it will continue on,” Mr Ezzy said.
“There’s a lot of other conflicts that have taken place since WWI, especially when you look at Vietnam.”
Scottsdale Lions Club’s Wayne Harper said many people paid their respects and recognised the sacrifices of those who had fought at the two Scottsdale services.
“I think it’s getting better for Scottsdale,” he said.
“As you know, a lot of the war veterans have either died or moved on, and now all of the young ones are coming along and we think it’s great.”
