Tornadoes coach Derrick Washington was ecstatic to have the 28-year-old back on court off the high of his club’s maiden win on Sunday.
“It’s going to be pretty good for us,” Washington said.
“I think having a natural point guard is going to give us a real advantage.
“Ally Wilson doesn’t normally play the point, but she had to do it for the time being.
“Because we can add Mansfield, we’ll build towards being better now too.”
Tornadoes general manager Corey Ackerley said the club is hoping to make a decision on replacing Mikaela Ruef by the end of the week.
The American has undergone surgery and will be sidelined for up to 12 months for an ACL injury from the end of her French season.
“We’ve been talking to a couple of agents and we’ve got a couple of names. We’re just trying to get footage of them so that Derrick can look at them,” Ackerley said.
“So we have nailed it down to a couple of players, who are currently in Europe.”
The new recruit will not be available for a further two to three weeks over necessary time to issue working visas.
