Playing at home for the first time this year, Cavaliers were kept in check early by the Tigers and only a late run had them take a three-goal margin into quarter time.
But from there the home side asserted its dominance through Tessa Coote and Kate McLaughlin, who began to pick off passes in defence and feed the ball up through player of the match Kate Gibson and Deanna Wadley.
Cavaliers extended their half-time lead of 13 to 29 at the final break and didn’t let up until the buzzer as Gibson and Megan Harper put on a masterclass inside the circle.
McLaughlin and Brie Rattray conceded just three goals in the final quarter as Cavaliers notched a 70-24 victory to maintain their spot in the top four ahead of next weekend’s trip to unbeaten reigning champions Arrows.
NORTHERN HAWKS unlocked a rare netball achievement, putting 100 on the board in a 61-goal win over State League Strugglers OHA.
The Hawks raced out to a 24-7 lead at quarter time, setting a blueprint for the remaining three terms which they followed to a tee.
The mammoth total was made possible by shooter Ashlea Mawer and goal attack Danni Pickett starring under the post, making the most of good service from Zoe Claridge and Steph Walker.
Mawer also showcased good chemistry with sister Chelsea, while Danni O’Byrne made several intercepts in the final term.
Pickett was named player of the match for the second match in a row as the Hawks maintained their perfect start to 2018.
The Hawks will play a home clash against Devon next weekend.
