A 40-strong line of people looking to score exclusive vinyls had formed outside Avenue Records before the record store had even opened on Saturday morning.
Avenue Records owner Callum Nobes said some of the first titles to go included albums by Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Run the Jewels and The National.
Mr Nobbes said it was the biggest day of the year for the store.
Record enthusiast Jack Bull bought Metallica’s Harvester of Sorrow single on Saturday, along with the Black Keys album Brothers.
“It gets a bit overwhelming when you’ve got Spotify at your fingertips – it’s nice to go back to the roots, put an album on and play the whole album through,” he said.
