This is the message behind the Community Kitchen, which will return to Inveresk Tavern on Sunday for its third year.
A collaboration between the tavern and the Migrant Resource Centre North, the program allows different cultural groups to share traditional cuisines with the community.
The program will run each Sunday until October 28 and Migrant Resource Centre North chief executive Ella Dixon said it was win-win partnership.
“People can come here and try food they might not have otherwise thought about, while the groups are able to develop their skills in the kitchen,” she said.
“Plus they are raising money that goes straight back into their community.”
Sunday’s Community Kitchen will take place from noon to 2pm, hosted by the Australian Bhutanese Society Northern Tasmania.
