Anh Dinh was charged with aggravated cruelty after she allegedly left two of her dogs in pet carriers in her car, with the windows up, while she waited several hours for a vet appointment at Mowbray in September 2016.
One of the dogs died of heatstroke and veterinarians had to remove the stiff animal from its carrier.
Ms Dinh appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Friday and pleaded not guilty through her lawyer, Kirsten Abercromby.
During her previous appearance Ms Dinh told Magistrate Simon Brown she believed someone else killed the animal and it was “not the first time her dog died”.
A hearing date has been set for August 10, but Ms Dinh will need to appear for a mention date on June 26.
She was bailed until that appearance.
