The special guest for Deloraine’s service will be the Governor Kate Warner.
Deloraine RSL’s secretary Shirley Howe said it was an honour to have the Governor at the commemoration.
Ms Howe said the number of people who pay their respects at Anzac Day services continued to grow.
“Since 2015 onwards, I’d most definitely think they have grown and the schools also have grown significantly in education about it as well, which is most important,” she said.
“At the end of the day, for our veterans to be remembered, we need the young ones to come along. They won’t necessarily be out there serving their country, it’s just a good chance to remember why we’re able to live the way that we do.”
She said young people now realise they would not want to be in the position our service people experienced.
“The worst thing that you’d ever want is for your sons to have to go to war,” Ms Howe said.
Westbury will also host a dawn and main service for 2018, with a focus on making it personal, RSL club’s secretary Jo Muggleton said.
“We’re doing all we can to continue to foster family values in the community,” she said.
“Each year our march is lead by pipers, then we have a service and, as we did last year, we’re talking about two of our diggers off the World War I honour board, which makes it more personal.”
Mole Creek will not host a service in 2018.
