The Tasmanian Under 15 All Nations team was controversially denied victory in their grand final against Victoria at the National Diversity Championship at Blacktown International Sport Parks on Thursday.

Trailing by a single point in the dying seconds, a Tasmanian player took a mark prior to the siren and was illegal tackled by his Victorian opponent and a 50m penalty was awarded.
The player kicked the goal but it was called back, allowing Victoria to put players on the line and the next attempt did not make the distance, giving the opponents the 28-27 victory.
For the All Nations team, Penguin’s Bailey Carter was named as Tasmania’s Most Valuable Player, recognized for his key role, while the Prospect Hawks’ Tony Aganas was selected as part of the World Team for his impressive campaign.
Despite falling out at the preliminary final stage, the Kick Start team player were also rewarded for their fine tournaments.
Ulverstone’s Liam Flanigan received the Most Valuable Player award to go along with selection in Flying Boomerangs team.
Flanigan was joined in the Flying Boomerangs team by Wynyard’s Jonty McIvor after he impressed in multiple games.
