The incident occurred about 4.30pm, on Lower Charles Street, in between the Seaport and Jacksons Motor Company.

Police were at the scene directing traffic, and traffic flow remains impacted on Charles and Goderich streets, as well as The Esplanade, past 5pm.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area if possible.

Ambulance crews have attended the scene, with injuries reported as minor.
