The competition stalwart tied with Longford’s Dilan Sandagirigoda on 21 votes to be bestowed with the prestigious medallion at a gala dinner at Country Club Tasmania on Saturday.
Savage amassed 720 runs at 51.4 and took 26 wickets in also clinching Premier League’s MVP award and batting average and aggregate trophies.
Sandagirigoda struck 491 runs and claimed 36 wickets for the three-time reigning champions.
Longford veteran Brett Martin won the bowling aggregate with 38 polls, while wicket keeper Jackson Blair secure the most dismissals behind the stumps (34).
The Country Tigers had five representatives in the 12-man team of the year including captain-coach Josh Adams, who was anointed skipper yet again.
Hadspen had three players include, while ACL was next best with two.
Mowbray champion Clinton Reid was awarded the A-Grade MVP for his outstanding year with Trevallyn with other grade MVP winners including Perth’s Mark Murfett (A-Reserve), Longford’s Jake Williams (B-Grade), ACL’s Scott Hammersley (B-Reserve) and Legana’s Scott Belbin (C-Grade).
