The 42-year-old lost her battle with breast cancer on April 9.
She was farewelled by family and friends on April 14.
Mrs Hall was a member of the Scottsdale Primary School Association for two terms, serving as chair of the committee for the last term.
“Karie lived for her children,” her mother Kym Terry said.
Mrs Hall had three children, all of whom attended Scottsdale Primary School.
Her two eldest received scholarships and now attend Launceston Grammar School, with her youngest still at Scottsdale Primary School.
“She was very active in the community, but her garden was her pride and joy,” Mrs Terry said.
Mrs Hall grew up on the Terry family farm Montgomery at Pipers River but moved to Scottsdale to work with her mother at her florist.
“She started working for me in ‘91, she was a very good florist,” Mrs Terry said.
Mrs Hall was named Tasmanian Florist of the Year three times and also competed in floral arranging competitions.
She was also a member of the Open Garden Scheme and facilitated weddings and football functions at her own home.
Mrs Terry said her daughter loved the outdoors, and it was something she instilled in her children.
Scottsdale Primary School principal Dawn McCauley said Mrs Hall’s creativity would be missed.
“Karie was well-known for her creativity. With a background in floristry she assisted the school at presentation mornings decorating our morning tea tables so that everyone who entered was blown away by her creations,” Mrs McCauley said.
“As a devoted mother, an active volunteer in every aspect of Scottsdale Primary School and a wonderful advocate for education - every school deserves a Karie Hall.”
Mrs McCauley said Karie wanted a brighter future for Scottsdale Primary School.
“She [Karie] wanted Scottsdale Primary School to provide high quality for learning within and beyond the classroom growing the whole child.”
Mrs McCauley said Mrs Hall was on the school association for two terms but her involvement with the school spanned since her first child started Kindergarten nine years ago.
Mrs McCauley said Mrs Hall wanted to provide the best learning opportunities for Scottsdale Primary School pupils.
“Karie was active with our school to the very end and we will be forever grateful.”
The Scottsdale Primary School Association is a very active group, formed of dedicated members of the school community.
