Its suspension was lifted after the facility passed the federal Agriculture and Water Resources department’s systems and processes audit for treatment of fruit fly host produce, Biosecurity Tasmania general manager Lloyd Klump said.
Biosecurity Tasmania staff were on site for the audit, along with Victorian authorities, who also investigated the facility.
“This audit has satisfied Tasmanian biosecurity authorities that all requirements are again being met,” Dr Klump said.
“However, in line with our biosecurity system, we will prioritise inspections on produce from that facility coming into Tasmania,” he said.
