Nothing could personify a classic better than a red 1967 Austin Healey Rally.
Terry Pulford and his wife Therese embodies that spirit.
Not based on performance but passion for their car.
“It’s the best,” he says. “It’s a magic car for this event.”
That’s also notable for his record seven appearances in the car among all classics.
The Canberran has many reasons to keep coming back.
“I so love the camaraderie over here, love the different sorts of cars you see and the roads you drive,” he says.
“They’re fantastic touring roads – I mean, you couldn’t ask for anything better?”
The son of a mechanic that turned to panel beating, the 68-year-old had been “messing around” with cars since he was only 10 before taking to racing dirt speedways when old enough to race.
He now enjoys having a “bit of a spin” where speed limits don’t apply. Why?
“The older you get, well, the sillier you get,” he laughs.
