The Northern Tasmanian Doll, Bear, Miniature and Craft Fair was a big hit with people of all ages, with crowds fascinated by antique toys, collectors items, and handmade dolls, bears, and crafts.
Stallholder Val Ellick said she had been making original porcelain dolls for about 25 years, which she once sold at the New York Toy Fair.
“I’m here [at the fair] showcasing what I do, and also selling doll making supplies for people who make their own,” she said.
“It’s a lot of effort [to make porcelain dolls]… it’s quite time consuming.
“It means that they’re totally original. You won’t see or get these anywhere else,” she said.
Northern Tasmanian Doll, Bear, and Miniature Club president Jenny Massey said Saturday had been a “very good day”.
