Jayson Gilham was born and raised in regional Queensland.
He was recognised by his early music teachers as “firmly in the prodigy category”.
Now 32-years-old and based in London, Gilham has performed on prestigious concert stages all over the world since winning first place in the Montreal International Music Competition in 2014.
Gilham will return to Australia to make his debut with the TSO with concerts in Hobart on April 12 and Launceston’s Albert Hall on April 13.
The program will consist of The Merry Wives of Windsor Overture by Nicolai, Grieg’s Piano Concerto, and Symphony Number Three Rhenish by Schumann.
The concert will feature Norwegian Eivind Aadland as conductor.
Grieg’s Piano Concerto was played 70 years ago at the TSO’s inaugural concert.
