A community forum at Prospect Vale will give Meander Valley residents a chance to have their say about the direction of their community.

The forum will take place on Tuesday evening and is a part of a series of forums the Meander Valley Council is running around the municipality.
The open forums have no official agenda, with community members able to raise any topic of choice throughout the meeting.
Community development manager Patrick Gambles said the forum was aimed at residents from Prospect Vale and Blackstone Heights.
Recreational projects are expected to be among the big ticket items at the meeting.
“The development of Prospect Vale Park and the development of major regional sports venues will no doubt be discussed at some point,” he said.
“We also really want to bring people up to date with progress and priorities and hear from the community and what they want to share.”
A part of the community forum will involve the formal introduction of the Blackstone Community News Committee.
A part of the group’s agenda is to rally the council to operate a street food park at Blackstone Heights, according to secretary Lyn Westlake.
“We want to have it next to Blackstone Road...and even if it was once a month it would be great,” she said.
The council started running the forums in 2017 and take place in a different location every quarter.
“The council’s slogan is, ‘Meander Valley – working together’ and the forums are an opportunity to gout out to some of our communities,” Mr Gambles said.
“It’s an opportunity for councillors to be seen and heard and also to listen to local issues.
“It’s all very constructive and positive.”
Meander Valley mayor Craig Perkins said the forums provided councillors with a great opportunity to inform the public about the council’s vision for the future.
“The forums have become a valuable engagement activity, where we can provide an update on key projects we are undertaking in the local area and hear about ideas for the future,” he said.
The forum will be held from 7pm to 8.30pm at the Prospect Vale Park clubrooms.
