Owners of a pub destroyed by fire in the Centrals Highlands are “absolutely gutted”.
The blaze ripped through Bronte Park Holiday Village early Friday morning and within two hours, the site’s popular lodge was gone.
Bronte Park General Store owner Shane Hedger said the owner came running across the road about 7.30am after the property became engulfed in flames.
“She’s just gutted, I’m gutted, I think she is in shock at the moment,” he said.
“The pub was basically gone within two hours. They’ve lost everything.”
Mr Hedger has been in the area for 11 years and said he had never seen a fire “this big” there before.
