Nicholas James Bye, of Newnham, pleaded not guilty to the charges at an earlier court appearance.
His hearing, which was part-heard, wrapped up in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Mr Bye is accused of running over a drunk pedestrian, who was walking home from the casino, with his car. The defence claims he did not realise he had driven over someone.
Magistrate Sharon Cure adjourned the matter for decision on April 10.
