A Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment spokeswoman said the number was on par with previous years.
The duck season started on March 10, and will run until June 11.
The spokeswoman said no issues had been raised directly with the department concerning the duck season.
“Duck hunting is a recognised recreational activity in Tasmania,” she said.
“As part of managing it sustainably the duck hunting season is for a limited period. Additionally only certain species of ducks are able to be taken and bag limits and other requirements are in place for licenced hunters.”
On March 11, Birdlife Tasmania said there had been “catastrophic” decreases of the state’s waterfowl populations after examining data for 15 years.
