Samuel Cullen got things rolling by clocking 56.04 in the under-16 boys’ 100m freestyle, before the under-15 boys and under-16 girls swam 1.50:00 and 2.05:32 respectively to set new records in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
Under-16 girls team member Mackenzie French was one of St Pats’ best performers, collecting three wins and two seconds while enjoying a neck-and-neck rivalry with Grammar’s Chelsea Savage (four wins, three seconds).
French’s under-15 schoolmates Jonte Adams (unbeaten in five races) and Jade Nichols (three wins, three seconds) also proved star performers.

Scotch Oakburn set a new record in the under-14 medley relay, of which 13-year-old pair Amy Muldoon and Emily Mitchell were both members, posting a time of 2:21.20.
Muldoon collected another three titles and two podiums over the course of the day, while Mitchell added two titles and two podiums.
Scotch was also well-served in the open girls by Dawson Howell’s four wins and two seconds.
Grammar 13-year-old Hugh Dolle’s new record of 26.86 in the under-14 50m freestyle was the best of his five wins, while Adelaide Skipper collected three wins and four second-place finishes.
The carnival was held at Launceston Aquatic Centre.
