Named the Tassie Emus, the team coached by Toby Burgess and Peter Hampson was among 123 competing.
On the first day of competition, the Tasmanian team beat South Queensland Sharks 7-4, Brisbane City Cobras 7-5 and Sydney Scorpions 8-1.
Day two saw an 8-5 loss to South Queensland Sharks, a 5-5 draw with Brisbane City Cobras and a 10-1 defeat of Sydney Scorpions.
Sydney Scorpions were again dispatched 11-1 in the semi-final and the first grand final appearance by a Tasmanian team produced a thrilling 10-6 win over Brisbane City Cobras. Launceston’s Katie Bessell and Hobart’s Ryan Smyth shared the player of the final award.
The Tasmanian team also had three women selected to play in the Alliance Team of best players, Rebecca Oliver, Emma Haynes and Alice Robinson. In the men’s T League division, Ashton King, of Hobart, was selected to play with a Victorian team.
