The Ridge, in operation for seven years, is a superbly appointed five-bedroom house perched on the slopes of the Buckett’s Range just 3km from town, combining state-of-the-art sustainable design, off-grid solar power and absolute luxury.
Boasting large gourmet kitchen, open plan lounge-dining, two large decks and outdoor fire-pit, The Ridge is the ultimate eco-friendly rural getaway to share with family and friends delivering true “Wow” factor with comfortable accommodation for up to ten guests (12 with sofa bed).
The Eco-Cabins follow The Ridge’s business adage – “undersell and over deliver”.
Located in private areas of the 100-acre property owned by Judith and Dan Buckley, the Eco-Cabins are targeted at couples seeking boutique luxury and a unique “up-close bushland” experience.
“All Eco-Cabins will have panoramic views over the Gloucester and Barrington Rivers, each in its own private setting with the advantage of only being five minutes from the Gloucester township and its shopping, dining and other services,” Dan Buckley said. “They are also close to all activities the Gloucester/Barrington region has to offer.”
The Eco Cabins follow The Ridge’s successful business adage – “undersell and over deliver”.
The Eco-Cabin design is a result of collaboration between the Buckleys and award-winning Bulahdelah builder Daniel Reistma of MAAP House, utilising the revolutionary MAAP (Modular Architectural Adaptable Panel) construction method developed by Mr Reitsma and architect Edward Duc.
Each Eco-Cabin is built according to ecologically sustainable design principles, incorporating energy efficiency, passive solar design and fully insulated delivering luxury boutique accommodation with low environmental impact.
The MAAP House prototype house won the Newcastle Master Builders Association 2017 Excellence In Building Award for Energy Efficiency & Environmental Sustainability and the NSW Master Builders Association 2017 Excellence In Housing Award for Affordable Housing. MAAP House also won the 2017 Westpac 200 Businesses of Tomorrow award.
Mr Buckley estimates the first of the six cabins will be completed and available for hire by July. For more information, visit www.theridgegloucester.com.
