City of Launceston’s natural environment department were successful in securing funding through Resource Recovery and Waste Minimisation grants from the Northern Tasmanian Waste Management Group.
The funds will go toward two solar compacting bins for the area, with one for waste and one for recycling.
The council will match the grant funds, with the contribution coming from the existing Bin Replacement Program.
