Ulverstone’s Rick Sutton, Bob Franklin, Steve Aitken and Lee Pearson took on Barry Bone (New Norfolk), Tony Vince and Grant Allford (both Glenorchy Rodman) and Railton’s Noel Purton in the men’s.
The Bone-skipped rink jumped out to a 10-2 lead after just six ends but the Ulverstone team clawed their way back after consecutive singles to 12-6 after 11.
However, Bone and his crew proved too strong and only gave up one more shot before running away as this year’s champions, winning 20-7.
The women’s final was a see-sawing encounter between Sandy Bay’s Robyn Leggett, Laura Best, Lyn Barlow and Anne Hinkley against Gaylene Elsworthy (Penguin), Kim Saunders (Invermay), Rosie Geeves (Howrah) and Jeanette Lane (Buckingham).
Elsworthy’s team jumped out to an 11-4 lead after five ends before the Sandy Bay team clawed their way back to tie things up at 11-all after 10.
Leggett and her ladies won eight ends in a row to take back the momentum and lost only three more shots before they were crowned senior fours champions with a 25-14 scoreline.
