Crews have contained the eastern and northern edges of the fire and are continuing to work to contain the southern and western edges.

EARLIER:

Tasmania Fire Service has been called to a vegetation fire at St Leonards.

A spokesperson said TFS received reports of a fire on St Leonards Road about 8.10pm. 

As of 9.10pm, seven crews were battling the blaze within gorse
