It was reported in The Examiner in 2016 that Pierre’s was leased by Rohan and Sarah Birchmore to front of house manager Amy Hallam and head chef Jonathon Barnard.
The imminent sale of the property will not affect the duo’s operation after they signed a long-term lease.
Mr Birchmore said at the time: “We did a refurbishment 10 years ago and the family owns the building, so it was very important to us, because we love it.”
Tragically, the founder of the brasserie Pierre Lecomte died in November last year.
The Frenchman opened Pierre’s in 1956 with his wife Helen and sold the business in 2007.
The George Street property is split into two parts – the former site of Justin Paul and the site of Pierre’s at 88 George Street and 88A George Street respectively.
Knight Frank director Rob Dixon said the shopfront adjacent to Pierre’s will be sold vacant. The property will be sold by expression of interest.
