The annual representative fixture will played on January 28 at the NTCA No.1 Ground.
Coach Darren Simmonds was at pains to suggest that a genuine competitive desire from players to represent the region this year has resulted in one of Cricket’s North most competitive outfits.
Selectors were forced to trim down at least 17 worthy candidates to a final 12 for the female grudge match.
“We have picked a well-balanced all-round side that bats deep and with a number of bowling options,” Simmonds said.
“Selection was quite difficult this year, with a few players being very unlucky not to make the side.
“This, though, is a good sign, as it shows the continuing improvement in women’s cricket. So I’m sure this side will represent Cricket North proudly.”
