Väderstad upped the beat on its Tempo precision drill by adding a new front-mounted fertiliser hopper and variable rate application technology.
The Swedish-engineered drill’s precision and high operating speeds allowed it to set the world record for maize planting in April 2017.
Väderstad product manager Joe Read said the fertiliser hopper complemented Tempo’s capacity and performance.
“Equipped with twin Fenix III electric metering systems, the 2200-litre hopper can precisely deliver up to 250 kilograms per hectare of fertiliser at speeds up to 15 kilometres per hour,” Mr Read said.
Optional hydraulic weight transfer and floating row cleaning systems have also been added for 2018.
“The ability to increase or reduce pressure on each row unit enables the operator to precisely adjust the machine to field conditions,” he said.
Väderstad machinery is available at CLAAS Harvest Centres.
