All 106 cows and calves offered at the female disposal sale at Chester Westwood were cleared, with Chester Jessie G51 attracting the top price of $13,000.

Jamena Poll Herefords from South Forest bought Chester Jessie G51, and her sire was Allendale Washington C77.
The average price for cows and calves was $5,656.
Of the 40 heifers sold, Chester Jessie M019 received the top price of $7,500, from Greenwood Poll Herefords in Triabunna.
Chester Jessie M019’s sire was Injemira Redford J84.
The average price for the heifers was $3,825.
Katrina Archer from Chester said there was a lot of interest from Tasmanian and interstate buyers on site and via Auctions Plus.
“We sold 91 females – or 62 per cent – were purchased by Tasmanians, including Flinders and King Island. The remainder will be travelling to NSW and Victoria,” Mrs Archer said.
Mark Wootton from Jigsaw Farms in Hamilton, Victoria, bought 13 cows and calves and seven heifers.
Webbs Mining from Sorell bought 14 cows and calves and Killara Pastoral bought eight cows and calves and four heifers.
