December 2017 edition of Tasmanian Farmer

While Australians thought more about how a farmer contributes to their lives on National Agriculture Day, we know we need you every day, several times a day. Our Tasmanian Farmer December edition followed two farmers on a typical day and also features your photos in acknowledgement of all that our state’s farmers do.

This edition also looks at the potential oyster shortage due to POMS and farmers selling stock to mainland Australian buyers, as well as spending the day at Barnbougle’s Lost Farm and highlighting both sides of the soil health debate.

Summer berry season opened in November so we spoke with a strawberry producer about what is in store for their season.

We also talked to the Bureau of Meteorology about what we can expect from the weather – and it is not looking good for the East Coast.
