A $14,957 grant from the Federal Liberal Government meant the volunteer run and managed club would help future proof the venue.
Club committee member Robyn Hatton said the club was acknowledged as an important community resource and the solar panels were “a key part of future proofing that resource”.
“Support like this grant, outside of our amazing volunteers, is very hard to come by,” Mrs Hatton said.
Tasmanian Liberal Senator David Bushby, who visited the club, said installation would significantly reduce the running cost burden, “allowing savings to be redirected towards other club priorities”.
