Rodney Gardner and Tasmania Performs’ Denni Proctor received grants as part of the 2018 Aboriginal Arts Program.
Gardner is a Launceston-based emerging visual artist who works in various mediums. He received a $7685 grant to create a series of portraiture works from across Launceston’s Aboriginal Community, and exhibit his 2017 works.
Funding of $4600 awarded, as part of Tasmania Performs, will be used to manage a strategic Professional Development program for Launceston-based emerging musician and songwriter Proctor throughout 2018.
Hobart-based emerging playwright and producer Nathan Maynard, Hobart-based emerging performer Jordy Gregg, of Tasmania Performs and Burnie-based printmaker Richard Griffiths also received grants.
