Victorian man dies in car crash at Lebrina in Northern Tasmania on Wednesday

A Victorian man has died after his car crashed into a truck in the state’s north about 6pm on Wednesday. 

The 43-year-old was travelling on Golconda Road at Lebrina in a silver Holden Commodore when he failed to navigate a sweeping right-hand bend.

The man veered onto the wrong side of the road, crashing into a Hino truck.

Tasmania Police said the Victorian man died at the scene. 

A 28-year-old Lebrina man was driving the truck. Police said he did not sustain any physically injuries. 

It was the third fatal crash in Tasmania this week. 

On Wednesday Roger Paul Corbin died at the scene of a helicopter crash, which also left a 33-year-old trainee pilot in a serious condition.

An 80-year-old-woman died after crashing her car at Newstead on Tuesday.
