The Hurricanes played one game in Launceston on their way to a semi-final appearance last campaign and will double that tally this season with back-to-back clashes against Sydney Thunder on December 30 and 31.
Pyke, a long-time Tassie Roar captain, said the Hurricanes would be looking to go a step further this season.
“We definitely want to take out the WBBL title,” Pyke said.
“I’m looking forward to playing some entertaining and engaging cricket with the girls.
“Each season the scores get higher and the competition more fierce, so we’ll need to bring some big hitting and continuous wicket taking this season.”
Pyke’s bowling partner Fryett, who lined up in seven matches last campaign, said she was again looking forward to playing in front of her home crowd.
“It will be extra special for me this year with a WBBL-BBL double header in my home town of Launceston,” she said.
“We have a really great core group of girls who have been part of the Hurricanes squad for the last two seasons, as well as some exciting new signings this year so I am really excited to see what we can achieve this summer.”
