The Therapeutic Goods Administration has ‘urgently’ recalled Gentamicin Injections 80mg.
Ten batches (a115, a115a, a115b,a129,a297, a316, a318, a342, a394 and a448) have been recalled because they may contain atypical levels if histamine.
If administered the injection could potentially lead to signs and symptoms of hypersensitivity reactions.
Pfizer, the manufacturer, requests all consumers visually inspect the product to determine if it is from the recalled batches and discontinue using the product.
Medicine not on the recall list can be used until the used-by date.
Anyone with concerns is urged to contact their pharmacy, or the Pfizer medical information line on 1800 675 229.
