Tasmania Police question teenager over jogger assault

A teenager has been accused of assaulting a jogger in the state’s south.

The 14-year-old boy allegedly assaulted a woman while she was exercising along the Clarence Foreshore Trail at Howrah on Sunday morning.

Tasmania Police called for witnesses in an attempt to locate the boy and he was questioned by Bellerive CIB detectives on Monday.

He will be charged under the Youth Justice Act.

Police described it as a “rare incident”.

“People shouldn’t feel concerned about using the area,” they said.
