If losing its second-semi final to North Launceston by 94 points on the weekend wasn’t bad enough, Southern Bombers ruckman Toutai Havea has been ruled out of Saturday’s preliminary final against Launceston at Bellerive Oval.
Havea was reported on the spot for rough conduct on North youngster Rhyan Mansell, who was forced to leave UTAS Stadium’s playing surface as a result. The match review panel graded the the incident careless, low impact and high contact.
Havea’s bad record lifted the base sanction to two matches, but he accepted an early guilty plea deal of one week to ensure he is available for the grand final in two weeks time should Lauderdale account for the Blues.
Launceston will need to overcome Lauderdale and three-straight Southern trips to lock in an all Northern Tasmanian decider.
