Marriage Redefinition

CONGRATULATIONS to The Examiner for using the heading ‘marriage redefinition’ for a letter (The Examiner, September 4) affirming that it’s OK to say ‘No’ in the postal ballot. I have said before that ‘marriage equality’ is a misnomer. The ‘Yes’ vote is not, as in permitting inter-racial marriage, about equal access to an existing institution. The ‘Yes’ vote is about moving the goalposts. But if the ‘Yes’ vote was marketed as ‘marriage redefinition’, would it attract support?
