The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a bushwalker warning for parts of Tasmania’s western district on Saturday.
A cold front approaching from the west is expected to cross the state on Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing a colder south-westerly change.
The bureau is predicting cloud and a very high chance of rain for the western district on Saturday.
Snow as low as 500 metres is expected during Saturday, causing hazardous conditions for bushwalkers.
A ridge of high pressure, from a high centred over the Bight, will gradually move over the state on Sunday and will persist on Monday.
A westerly flow will develop over Tasmania as the high moves over Victoria on Monday.
The bureau will issue an updated warning at 11am on Friday.
