Police say the charges follow further investigations by detectives from Launceston CIB into the incident on Mr Gay's residence in East Launceston on October 10.
"The 21-year-old Launceston man is to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date charged with Injuring Property and Trespass," a police statement issued this afternoon said.
"Investigations have established that the damage caused was in relation to a prank involving several males and involved a level of intoxication."
Police say there will be no further comment on the incident at this stage.
