About 700 students sat down to a picnic lunch with family and friends to read books for the annual Book Week event on Tuesday.
Teacher Bec Van Est, who dressed up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, said this was the first year they encouraged students to dress up.
It was a fantastic event to encourage students to read and share their love of books with family and friends, she said.

Using the theme ‘Escape to Everywhere’, there were plenty of Harry Potters and superheroes on display, Mrs Van Est said.
“It’s an opportunity to enjoy being together with the community.”
Eloise Murray, 7, and her sister Georgia, 5, dressed up as Snugglepot and Cuddlepie from May Gibbs’ classic Australian series.
She handmade most of her costume.
“I like the book because it’s a nice story,” Eloise said.
“We’ve been able to play friends and take photos with them and read books.”
