Joey Cullen and Gary Shipton combined for eight goals in a 15.17 (107) to 6.11 (47) victory, bringing the Redlegs within 17 percentage points of the Bulldogs and the minor premiership.

Jesse Tunks and Brodie Stokell were huge for the home side but the Redlegs didn’t have it all their own way, with Joel Clements and Matthew Page leading the Bridgenorth charge and Rohan Sergeant (two goals) threatening up forward.

The Parrots remained in striking distance with a quarter to go but Bracknell weren’t to be denied their 13th win of the season, piling on seven goals to two in the final term to blow the game out to a 10-goal margin.

Bracknell will travel to Scottsdale next weekend, while Bridgenorth will be up for another huge test against the Bulldogs.

GEORGE TOWN ended its season on a high by upsetting an in-form Longford side by 17 points at Blue Gum Park.

Scheduled for the bye in round 18, the Saints put in an inspired performance to notch up their third win of the season and their first since round 5.

Veteran Allan O’Sign was crucial once again, contributing a bag of four, while Jack Deacon, Joseph Bodis and Joshua Knight all played top games.

The win sees the Saints jump out of bottom spot with one round to go.

HILLWOOD has seen off a fast-starting Deloraine to grab a crucial 29-point win and edge closer to securing fourth spot.

Finding themselves three goals down at the first break, the Sharks dug deep to win the next three quarters and run out 14.5 (89) to 9.6 (60) winners.

The away side had plenty of options up forward with Nathan Pearce, Daniel Withers and Nick Bauld all kicking three, while Rhys Heald kicked two. 

Jade Smith and Joshua Cameron were the best performers for Deloraine, who must beat Longford next week to avoid the wooden spoon.

In the night game, an impressive home showing from the reigning premiers saw ROCHERLEA upset higher-ranked Scottsdale by 37 points.  

The Suburban Tigers jumped out of the blocks with a six-goal-to-two first quarter and never looked back, stretching their lead to 39 points at the final change on their way to kicking 14.12 (96).

The win keeps Rocherlea within striking distance of the Sharks, with the two sides to play off for fourth spot at Hillwood next weekend.

Scottsdale have already cemented third spot on the ladder with a record of 10 wins and five losses.

Old Scotch made a menacing return to the winners list on Saturday to secure minor premiership bragging rights ahead of its qualifying final against Evandale next week.

The Thistles put two consecutive losses behind them to kick 35 goals against Bridport, including 11 in the last term, to register a thumping 199-point win. 

Coach Jake Terry (8 goals) and Josh Harris (7 goals) were the main targets up front for the Thistles, while Shaun Smith and Daniel Ellis added three each and George Walker worked hard around the ground.

The big win bumped the Thistles six percentage points above Evandale, with both teams finishing the year on 56 points. 

EVANDALE did what it had to do to secure its 14th win of the season, seeing off a dogged Magpies outfit in a low-scoring affair at Perth.

Kicking with the wind in the first and third quarters, the Country Eagles led at every change thanks to four-quarter efforts from Sebastian Woof, Anthony Axton and Sam Bannister.

Chasing a 21-point deficit in the final term, a Shaun Etchell-inspired Magpies unit gave everything it had to keep Evandale scoreless in the last quarter but couldn’t convert chances at their end, kicking 1.5 to finish on the wrong side of a 6.10 (46) to 4.12 (36) scoreline.

Evandale’s Damien Wrankmore was the game’s sole multiple goalkicker.

LILYDALE secured a third-place finish by punishing a disappointing Old Launcestonians at Invermay Park. 

The Blues were kept goalless for the second time in a month, kicking only five behinds while the Demons slotted 23.21 (159).

Chae Evans and David Gardiner toiled hard for the Blues but were no match for a powerful Demons engine room featuring Louis Venn, Trent Griggs and Thane Bardenhagen.

Joshua Griggs led his side’s goalkicking for the third week running with six, while Billy Tuckerman and Bardenhagen booted four apiece. 

The Demons will meet Perth in an 11.45am elimination final at Invermay Park on Saturday.

An 11-goal haul from star forward Nicholas Child paved the way for EAST COAST’s 133-point win over Uni-Mowbray.

The Swans, who will meet St Pats in an elimination final on Sunday, held their opposition to just three goals for the match while kicking 23.17 (155) at the other end.

Adam Humzy was his side’s best in the Suburban Eagles’ final hitout for the year.  

MEANDER VALLEY ended the season a high by upsetting Tamar Cats at Westbury.

The Cats got the jump early to lead by two straight kicks at the first change, but the Suns slowly wrestled back control of the match before piling on six last-quarter goals to blow their opposition away.

Jesse Warren, Sam Archer and Richard Heazlewood impressed in the six-goal win.

ST PATS were inaccurate in front of goal but still managed to get the better of Prospect by 104 points. 

The Saints had 10 goalkickers in the 19.25 (139) to 5.5 (35) victory.
