Washington will play shows across the country, teaming up with each location’s native symphony orchestra.
The Washington Orchestra tour will come to Tasmania in October, performing in Hobart with the TSO.
The tour is in support of her forthcoming four album, which she will play in full.
“It's an absolute life highlight to be able to work with orchestras of this calibre”, Washington said.
"When considering repertoire for these shows, it was very important to me that I focus on the future and present new work. I want to look musically forward, not back.
“Essentially these shows are decadent, extravagant album previews for my new record, which will be out next year. It's going to be a sumptuous, romantic art party.”
Tickets for the shows went on sale on Thursday morning.
Tickets for the Hobart show, which will be held on Tuesday, October 24, at the Federation Concert Hall, start at $36.
