Councillor Tanya King raised the issue at the council’s July meeting during Plastic Free July. 

The kerbside recycling program diverts flexible plastics, that can’t be put in the kerbside bin, from landfill into a material that can be used to manufacture new products. 

The feasibility of the program will be examined and reported back to councillors at an upcoming workshop, the infrastructure officer said.
