The year 12 student beat 1600 other competitors from around Australia to claim top prize in the senior competition at the National Final in Brisbane.
"For the prepared part I chose the topic 'uncharted territory', and I talked about the concept of living for a thousand years," Eamonn said.
"For the impromptu speech I chose the topic 'finding a balance', and I spoke about Donald Trump and the need for him to find a balance between his verbal communication and twitter communication.”
This year marked the fifth occasion that a Tasmanian student has won the senior Rostrum competition since it began in 1975.
