State Growth Minister Matthew Groom said the public could now comment on the proposed laws.
If passed, they would allow an operator to put forward a planning application for Hobart City Council to consider on its merits.
“We want to hear from you and your thoughts on the proposed laws,” Mr Groom said.
“The proposed laws will not change the need for any cable car proposal to get all the necessary approvals, including protecting Tasmania’s natural environment, heritage and Aboriginal cultural values.
“Public land will not be sold as part [of it].”
