The Latrobe European doll shop and novelty store, on Gilbert Street, was gutted by a fire on Christmas Eve in 2015, causing about $3 million of damage.
Setting up a temporary shop the following January, the store is now set to close at the end of July before returning back to the rebuilt Gilbert Street shop.
Reliquaire owner Sylvia Christie said “we started with nothing 15 t0 16 months ago and had to build back up”.
Now she is keen to put the past behind her.
She announced on Facebook the temporary store would close to in about three weeks time to prepare for the return to the main street.
“I can’t wait,” Ms Christie said.
Builders started rebuilding in February and should be finished in time for Reliquaire to relocate in early August.
Ideally the shop would be reopening to the public in mid-October, just in time to start the Christmas trade.
No orders or sales will be completed during that time.
“It’s exciting times ahead, I now feel like we can take another step forward.”
